Happy New year!! I am so excited for all things new that 2018 is going to bring. Usually we start off the new year with a plan to diet, get fit and then everything else falls behind those categories.

Well, I wanted to share with you some tips to help you start your new year with a  healthier version of you.

  1. Don’t use the word diet. When you insert this word in your daily vocabulary it just feels like you are restricting yourself from all things yummy and you are only allowed steamed veggies and fish or chicken.
  2. It is better to start making small lifestyle changes. For instance, if you have never worked out don’t push yourself for 5 x a week. It’s better to start with twice a week and slowly add in more days. The same goes with food, don’t eliminate everything from your diet, start slow. Replace white rice with brown rice or quinoa, instead of having dessert everyday, reduce it to 3 times and week and so on.
  3. Have fun on pinterest! This app has tons of fun, yummy, healthy recipes you can easily apply for your day to day.
  4. Plan ahead, if you know you are having a busy week ahead, take a few hours from your weekend and pre make some of the things that take the longest so when you have to leave the house in a rush or come back exhausted and not wanting to cook, all is almost set and ready to eat in the fridge.

I hope these tips help you start a healthier version of you. Remember it’s important to compare you to you, not anybody else. We are all different and we must embrace it.
