When I was pregnant and would encounter people I would get, straight up to my face, Oh you just wait, you will be so swollen you will not be able to move. Your nose gets sooo big you will not recognize yourself.

Enough be said, I was petrified as the days went by. But the reality was that deep in my heart I knew I was doing the right thing for me and my baby and none of those things that everyone said would happen to me would happen.

I want to share my top 3 things that I did to be healthy and that, I believe, led me to not be swollen ever during my pregnancy.

Here it goes:

  1. Drink 3 liters of water, I would carry a huge jug of water all day long. Kept me hydrated and I saw it as a challenge every day to finish it. Yes, you go to the bathroom plenty but it will not only keep you hydrated but get your bowels moving.
  2. Use a nice soft cream with peppermint in it like the one below. Trust me, I wore heels all the time and at the end of each day I would massage my feet and legs with this cream and it would be like magic. I would feel relaxed and if I had started to swell up, it would go down immediately.
  3. Finally, try avoiding foods that are processed and or have high content of sodium. Trust me, you will see the difference if you eat a balanced meal, cravings will be a lot less because you are getting all your body needs.

These were my top 3 go tos when I was pregnant and plan to go ahead and do it all over, when round two rolls along.
